You can access a number of HELP options from within any database by entering HELP followed by the help option desired. To view an up-to-date list of available HELP options online, enter HELP HELP. Following is a list of commonly needed HELP options. HELP RATES nnn For rate information about File nnn. HELP RATES * For rate information about the database you are currently searching. HELP LIMIT nnn For a list of available LIMIT suffixes
(including accession number ranges where available)
in File nnn. HELP FIELD nnn For a list of searchable fields in File nnn. HELP FMT nnn For a list of output Format options in File nnn. HELP RPT nnn For a list of REPORT fields in File nnn. HELP SORT nnn For a list of SORT fields in File nnn. HELP TERMS nn For a list of database terms and conditions. HELP MAP nnn For a list of MAP fields in file nnn. The HELP command can be abbreviated as a question mark (?). For example, ?RATES 15 retrieves information about the cost of searching File 15, ABI/INFORM®. A HELP command about a specific database can be requested anywhere in the online system. HELP commands are the only commands allowed during PAUSE without ending the PAUSE function. Usage Notes DialogLink 5: DialogLink 5 provides hyperlinks in the Help and Information pane to Dialog materials, such as Bluesheets, Quick Reference Cards and training materials. The command HELP HELP links to full explanation of the Help commands The command HELP FILE nnn loads the Bluesheet for that file. |
