SET (continued)

SET COST

Abbreviation: None
Command Format: SET COST <OFF or ON>

To suppress the automatic display of cost estimates after the BEGIN, FILE, and LOGOFF commands, enter SET COST OFF. To receive the estimates again, enter SET COST ON. If you SET COST OFF, you can still use the COST command to display a complete cost estimate at any point in your search. The system default is COST ON.

To set cost ON or OFF permanently use Configuration > Settings > Edit > Preferences. Choose the drop-down menu for On or Off in the option to Show Estimated Cost Summary.

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), the broadcast of GPS- derived aircraft position to the ground and between aircraft, is considered a cornerstone technology of the Next Generation Air Transportation (NextGen) system in the United States. A similar transformation in air-traffic control is taking place across the border in Canada as well as in Australia.

With promised benefits for safety, operational efficiency and airspace capacity, ADS-B provides surveillance in non-radar airspace, tighter aircraft separations, closer spacing on final approach and better situational awareness of the airport surface.

Since the selection of an industry team headed by ITT Corp. in August 2007, the ADS-B program in the United States has achieved significant milestones, establishing "essential" services in southern Florida one year after contract (...)
