New Target Data in Pharmaprojects

Two novel protein targets have been identified for drugs reported in Pharmaprojects (File 128/PHAR):

bulletHexosaminidase B (beta polypeptide)
bulletRetinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator interacting protein 1

To find on which drug profiles these new targets are found, search using the gene target field on Dialog (/TG):

?s hexosaminidase()B//tg

?s refinitis()pigmentosa()
gtpase()regulator()
interacting()protein()1//tg

In DataStarWeb Easy Search, enter the entire target gene name, select "target gene" from the drop-down box and click [Search].

You can also search using the Entrez Gene ID number. If the number is not known, you can find it at the NCBI Entrez Gene Web site.

Hottest Journals of the Millennium

Get an idea of the hottest journals in the 21st century thus far. Thomson Scientific's ScienceWatch presents rankings for the top 10 journals in 11 scientific fields reflecting papers published and cited in Thomson-indexed journals between January 1999 and August 2004.

For this survey papers are defined as regular scientific articles, review articles, proceedings papers, and research notes. In all 11 of the fields, Nature and Science predominate, with both appearing at either #1 or #2 in each field. View all journals and subject areas.
