Tips for Retrieving Trademark Images

Viewing an image can help you determine whether your trademark is unique. Here are some tips about finding and viewing images in the trademark files.

Use Format 19 to display the full trademark record and its image.

TYPE S1/19/1

The display tag IM can be used to display just the image or to create a user-defined format.

TYPE S1/ET,IM/ALL

To assure that all retrieved records will contain images, add RT=IMAGE to your query.

SELECT DOT/DESIGN AND RT=IMAGE

To determine whether a particular state or territory includes images in File 246, combine a search for images in the Record Type field (RT=image) with a search on the State of Registration field (SR=state name or postal abbreviation).

SELECT RT=IMAGE and SR=CA
