Tip of the Month

Search Tips for Pharmaprojects

Pharmaprojects (File 128) has just been reloaded with new data and enhancements. For more details, review the story in the May issue of Pharma/Biotech News.

Here are some samples of helpful search tips included in Lesson 3 of the updated Drug Pipeline course:

1 Therapeutic class codes are cascaded in Pharmaprojects so no truncation is needed. In IMS R&D Focus (File 445) the class codes are not cascaded; therefore, truncation is necessary.

Example:
Pharmaprojects = s tc=t
IMS R&D Focus = s tc=t?

\ Government regulatory approval (designated registrations) is one of several milestones searchable in the Update field, cross-referenced to country name.

Example:
s additional()registrations/up

3 Using NA= or /NA retrieves all drug names: chemical name, laboratory code, generic name, trade or brand name.

Example:
s lovastatin/na
