Sending Records Using DialogWeb—Guided Search

You can send records by email using DialogWeb—Guided Search. Here's how:

1From the Picklist, check the records you want to send and select the format at the top of the screen.

2Then from the Destination box, select email and click the display / send button.

3On the Send Results screen, chooseFormat - Full Record, the Output as Text or HTML from the drop-down box Output as HTML.

4Select the address. If one is not available, click the create new... button to create one. Then click the send button.

Note that you can send records to more than one person in your organization using the Dialog ERA service. Enter the number of persons to send copies to, or to archive on your organization's computer or to redistribute within the organization.

New Pharmaceutical Recorded On-Demand Web Training Sessions
Three new short courses for the pharmaceutical researcher have been added to the On-Demand Web classes. The courses using DialogWeb—Guided Search make searching easy for the novice searcher, and can help even experienced Dialog searchers if they need to search in a database or on a topic they're not familiar with. No previous experience with Dialog or online searching is necessary to get started. The audio narration is in American English.

Selecting Dialog Databases Using DialogWeb—Guided Search familiarizes you with Dialog tools for choosing databases to search, introduces you to the Guided Search interface and provides examples in selecting databases using the subject categories in DialogWeb. This course is a good starting point.

Introduction to Searching for the Pharmaceutical Researcher Using DialogWeb—Guided Search covers the basics of creating a search strategy and introduces you to the building block approach to conducting a search and retrieving documents.

Tracking a Pharmaceutical Product Through the Discovery Process Using DialogWeb—Guided Search reviews databases and search strategies that a researcher might use in the discovery phase of drug development. Sample searches in chemical handbooks, chemical literature, trademarks and patents are covered.
