Find News on a U.S. Company Using DIALINDEX (File 411)?

TOPIC: DIALINDEX®, File 411, is a good place to identify recent company news. DIALINDEX lets you quickly and inexpensively review a group of databases for news on your topic, rather than searching one database at a time. The DIALINDEX category NEWSCO searches company news files on Dialog: all databases in this category contain the Company Name (CO=) field.

In this example, you will use DIALINDEX to identify databases containing your search terms, and then to BEGIN these databases in OneSearch® to retrieve your articles.

3.
Enter your search terms. Search MICRON using the /CO Company Name field.

Note: /CO " is a word-indexed field, meaning you must replace punctuation and connect words with a proximity operator. Using CO= or /CO are two different methods of searching the same data. CO= is used when you are certain of how a name will appear. /CO allows more flexibility because terms can be anywhere in the field.

Note: In DIALINDEX all search terms must be entered in one search statement because no sets are created in DIALINDEX.

Micron shares plunge on pricing concerns

MARKETWATCH (STORIES)

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Micron Technology Inc.
plunged more than 4% on Monday after several analysts expressed  concern about the impact of declining chip prices on the company's  financials.
Micron's stock dropped about 40 cents to less than $8 in
early trading after analysts noted that the stiffening competition
for market share in the memory chips arena has caused prices to
drop."The memory segment faces significant near-term profitability
hurdles as destructive market share battles rage in both NAND and
DRAM," analyst Daniel Berenbaum of Caris & Co. said in a research
note. NAND chips, also known as flash memory, are typically used
in such devices as cell phones and mp3 players while DRAM chips
are found in personal computers.
Berenbaum added that "there are clear long-term demand
drivers here, and the memory market does not appear to be
structurally broken,  but in the absence of any near term
positive catalysts, we  recommend that investors avoid Micron
Technology stock."
