Choosing A Market Research Database

In order to respond to Bev's request for information on the multifunction devices market, I need to choose a market research database to search.

Key Sources
Click the Key Source Table icon to view descriptions of the databases in the MARKETFULL collection.

The search is demonstrated below using DialogWeb 2.0. You will have a chance to try searching DialogWeb on your own for the practice exercises at the end of the lesson.

To see a movie of the logon procedure, click here.

To review database options, I click Databases.

To simplify the database selection process, DialogWeb has grouped related files into subject categories. For example, the market research reports are grouped together in one category.

After clicking on Databases, a list of subject categories displays. Now, I must choose from the eight (8) main subject categories. I'll click on Business.

All Categories

We see that each category is further divided into focused search topics. For Bev's search, I want market research reports, I'll select the Market Information subcategory under the Industries and Markets category.
