With the release of DialogLink 4.01 in September, customers who have eLinks enabled on Dialog can also get the eLinks in XML downloads, so they are available for postprocessing in Microsoft® Word and Microsoft® Excel reports. By adding an "eLink" field to your DialogLink 4 template, you can control where the eLink displays in the finished report. The example below comes from BIOSIS Previews®.

Dialog eLinks provides a hyperlink from an abstract record to the fulltext electronic record provided by a partner publisher or journal aggregator. This service provides a streamlined method for retrieving the fulltext of an eLink article to which an organization subscribes. Dialog partners with over 100 publishers and aggregators to provide access to more than 11,000 journals.

  • Close the Visual Expand window after checking desired terms and clicking the Select button

  • Choose to go directly to the bottom of typed records

  • Use PAGE with the classic EXPAND command to view an additional 50 terms

  • BEGIN HITS and execute saved searches in DIALINDEX®

  • Make the Type-Ahead buffer smaller by moving the divider to provide more space in which
to view records in the retrieve buffer

  • SELECT ALL in Visual Expand with one click

  • Select all displayed index entries in Visual Expand with one click
