Chemical Checklist
Use the Chemical checklist to help you organize your search data.
If you want chemical information, ask yourself some questions to get started.
- What type of information do I want?
- Specific chemical?
- Class of chemicals?
- Where will I find the information?
- Chemical handbooks or dictionaries?
- Peer-reviewed citations?
- Review or overview information?
- Patent information?
- Chemical business information?
- What type of information do I already have?
- A Name – trade name, generic or common name, systematic names, class name, CAS® Registry Number?
- Molecular Structure – molecular formula, element count, structural formula?
- Physical Properties – boiling point, melting point, molecular weight, solubility, dissociation constant, density, vapor pressure, etc.?
- Subject Categories – safety and toxicology, regulatory, synthesis and production, supplier or manufacturer, patent and legal, engineering, pharmaceutical?
