In order to use the strategy, address, or profile created with EDIT, you need to SAVE the file. SAVE, SAVE TEMP, SAVE ALERT, and SAVE PROFILE can all be used. • To SAVE the SearchSave or Dialog Alert strategy you created with the Online Editor: EDIT:

When saving Alerts, you are then prompted about scheduling, removing duplicates, and special Alert options. See SAVE ALERT. • To SAVE an existing SearchSave or Alert that has been modified using EDIT: To replace an existing SearchSave, temporary SearchSave, or Alert with a new, edited version, enter SAVE. SAVE works for permanent and temporary SearchSaves and Alerts that have been modified using EDIT; the system remembers the type of strategy you modified. Dialog Alert strategies can be edited in any file. The Online Editor will ask you to confirm the replacement. EDIT: ?save -->Replace "TG535518627"? (Y=Yes N=No) ?y Temp Search-save "TG535518627" stored Exit from editor If you answer No, the strategy will be assigned a new name. Alternatively, you can assign a name when you enter the SAVE command, e.g., SAVE TEMP JONES or SAVE JONES. ?save -->Replace "TG535518627"? (Y=Yes N=No) ?n >>>TG535518627 already exists Enter up to 30 characters for a name. Include at least one letter. Or press ENTER for system-assigned name. Q=Quit H=Help Temp Search-save "TI535517233" stored Exit from editor The name (from one to 30 characters, with at least one letter) displayed by the Online Editor is the name under which the search strategy is stored. The SAVE command is also used in the Online Editor to store a Dialog profile (see Creating Your Dialog Profile.) Note: You can view a listing of your stored strategies with the RECALL command. You can erase a SAVEd strategy with the RELEASE command. |
