Use SHOW to generate a display of your current SET parameters. You can request a display of all of them (SHOW ALL), or you can specify a particular parameter. You can enter a SHOW command from any Dialog database, at any time during a search session. See Summary of SHOW Commands for brief descriptions of all the SHOW commands. Detailed descriptions for each SHOW command appear in alphabetical order after the Summary list and may be displayed directly using hyperlinks from the Summary List or the Table of Contents. Summary of SHOW Commands SHOW ALL — Displays all parameters listed below, except PASSWORD. SHOW ADDRESS <name> — Displays the name(s) of alternate SHOW ADDRESS <delivery type>— Displays the name(s) of alternate address(es) currently set, e.g., show addr email. SHOW ADDRESS DETAIL — The DETAIL option causes the complete address to display. SHOW ALIAS — Indicates active SET ALIAS commands and original text replaced. SHOW CONNECT — Indicates whether charging method is set to DialUnits or Connect Time. SHOW COST — Indicates whether COST displays are set ON, OFF, or SHORT. SHOW CURRENT — Indicates whether the CURRENT option is in effect. SHOW FILES — Displays the file banner(s) for the database(s) you are currently searching. Often used in DIALINDEX or OneSearch, it displays a list of the files specified in your last SET FILES or BEGIN command; also displays file banners when SET BANNERS OFF is active. SHOW H — Displays number of characters per line. SHOW HILIGHT — Indicates whether HILIGHT is set ON or OFF, and what character, if any, is being used. Abbreviated as SHOW HI. SHOW KWIC — Displays "window" size, i.e., number of words displayed around search terms in KWIC. SHOW NOTICE — Indicates whether NOTICE is set, and for what dollar amount. SHOW PASSWORD <real password> — Displays alias password; your actual password must be a part of the command for SHOW PASSWORD to work. SHOW POSTINGS — Indicates whether POSTINGS is set ON or OFF. SHOW SELECT — Indicates whether SELECT is set to SHORT or FULL. SHOW SUBACCOUNT — Displays the subaccount currently in effect. SHOW Un — Displays your user-defined format Un (n is the format number). SHOW Un Un Un — Displays U formats listed (U1, U2, etc.) DialogLink 5: The following SHOW Commands are not supported: SHOW CURRENT, SHOW PASSWORD, SHOW Un, SHOW Un Un Un. Use SHOW PREFERENCES as a functional equivalent to SHOW ALL. |
